What a Deal!

Would you like a shopping bag?  Lawrence has done away with plastic sacks in stores, so our goal is to help you out.  We have several different styles of Pocket Shoppers that fold up within themselves to easily fit in a purse.

A Good Deal! - Beginning Friday, March 8th

This bag is more of a yellowish/green

Buy one of the SOLID COLORED shoppers and receive a 20% discount for everything that fits in the bag.  This is a onetime special only.  It applies only at the time the bag is purchased.  The bag is discounted to $6.00 so there is no further discount on the bag.  We only have a limited number of the 3 colors available and once they are gone, the deal is over. So, hurry in.  (Sorry, but in store only - no internet orders)

Need some guidance on how to get started with your new Autumn block-of-the-month? Does the designer use some stitches that are new to you? The class will include information on using both freezer paper and fusible appliqué methods. We’ll also talk about needles and threads.

Most of the class time will be used for demonstrating various stitches, including the whip stitch, blanket stitch, herringbone stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, couch stitch and drizzle stitch. The class fee includes a small kit with flannel, wool and threads so participants can practice the stitches during class. You may learn some stitches that become new favorites. If time permits, participants may begin or continue to work on their first month’s blocks.

Needle Turn Applique - Back Basting Method

Date:  Friday, March 8th

Time:  1:30 – 3:30

Cost:  $30.00

Instructor:  Christina

Needle turn appliqué doesn't have to be scary! Nor does it have to take hours and hours of prep time before you begin to stitch! We will be learning the Back-basting Appliqué method. By tracing your design to the wrong side of the background fabric there is no problem with marking lines on the front that don't quite get covered. We will discuss needles and the different types of threads and I will have some available for you to try.
