WOOL
If you are like me and tired of the hot weather and thinking about fall, then I think of fun wool projects to work on.
Wool, Needle & Thread by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings
This is my favorite book for instructions for wool appliqué. It is my go to book for all things wool

Welcome to the private classroom of quilting star Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings! Ditch the trial-and-error and learn from Lisa’s decades of experience how she creates her exquisite stitcheries step by step: wool appliqué, embroidery stitches, and much more. Filled with close-up photos of Lisa's hands working her magic, this book will show you how to master each technique down to the tiniest detail. Start with Lisa’s fabric tips; then move on to her favorite tools, templates, threads, and needles. How does she create her slim vines, pretty pennies, and flower appliqués? It’s all here, along with a dozen embroidery stitches in photos so clear, you can’t go wrong. Lisa also shares five sweet projects to make yourself, rounding out this jampacked volume that will teach stitchers how to sew more accurately, more confidently, and more beautifully than ever before. |

Immerse yourself in patchwork and appliqué with a gorgeous sampler quilt plus 5 more companion projects from Kim Diehl. Popular designer Kim Diehl’s quilting journey began years ago with a sampler quilt she found at a sidewalk sale, so it’s no surprise that, when she designed a sampler quilt of her own, she pulled out all the stops and incorporated two of her loves—stars and fusible wool appliqué. With an invitation to slow down and enjoy hand stitching the wool appliqué blocks, Kim makes this decadent quilt simple with full-size appliqué patterns, detailed instructions, and scads of tips for success.
