New Years Day Sale
On my desk is a fresh, clean calendar. 2010. A new year - a new decade lies before us. As a rule I don't make New Year resolutions, but I can't help dreaming a bit about the experiences that lie before us: New quilting techniques to learn new classes to take and beautiful fabrics to work with. And maybe, MAYBE...time to work on one of those projects that have been calling to me from the UFO pile.
On January 1 we will again have our annual sale. While the ball games drag on, one after another, come in and join the festivities. All of our regular priced merchandise will be 20% off. AND this will be the first day for the Cedar Crest Retreat Sign-up.If you are interested in going to one of the four retreats scheduled in 2010, you may make your down payment of $50 per retreat to hold your spot. The scheduled dates are:
March 4-7 (Thursday thru Sunday)
June 7-10 (this one is Monday thru Thursday which is a change from the norm)
August 5-8 (Thursday thru Sunday)
November 11-14 (Thursday thru Sunday)
We will take reservations for 13 ladies at each retreat session - first come first serve.
This January 1st, we will NOT be having a lunch provided at the quilt shop as we have in the past. Jasmines Mexican/Chinese Restaurant will be open from 12:00-8:00 pm, and we are hoping that perhaps the new Nancy Janes Special Occasion Boutique will be open.
Several new Block of the Month programs will be starting in January and on display that day:
Amy Bradley has designed a new snowmen quilt called Snow Day Sew Day. This ten month block of the month which will finish at 52" x 61" will begin on January 15. The pattern is $29.00 and fabric kits will be $10.00 a month.
Barb is making The Pastor's Attic Quilt from the Marsha D. Radtke Book, A Baltimore Album. It will be a nine month block of the month, the book is $26.95 and fabric kits will be $10.00 a month.
Christina will be making Heirloom Stitches, a new pattern by Of One Mind. This is another beautiful quilt featuring twilling using beautiful varigated pearl cotton. This will be an eleven month block of the month and $15.00 a month, price includes the pattern.
Amber is going to make the Harebrained Happenings Mom and Me, Baby Steps quilt. This is a darling children's quilt and will be so much fun to make. It will be a thirteen month block of the month and the fabric kits will be $10.00 a month.
Deanna with Cottage Rose Designs has a new basket block design called Ode to Joy. The quilt features a different color basket & flower for each month. It will be a twelve month block of the month and the fabric kits (batiks!) will be $18.00 a month. The finished quilt is 96" square.
Our Holiday hours are as follows:
Christmas Eve - 9:30 am to 2:00 pm
Christmas Day - closed
New Years Eve - 9:30 am to 2:00 pm
We will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 5 for inventory
The Applique Society (TAS) Ruby Stitchers will meet on Monday, January 4 (the first Monday of each month) from 7 pm to 9pm. This is open for anyone interested in any form of applique. Bring some hand work and join us.
We had a GREAT response in providing food supplies for the Eudora Food Pantry. Thank you all. We had so much fun making our bags for display, and we take great pleasure in reporting that it was a close race, but in the end, Carol Hagan won the prize with her Six in the City bag. Congratulations Carol. Come in and see our bags displayed - you just may be tempted to make one yourself. In the meantime, you helped us provide 113 food items for those less fortunate during these hard times.
Mark you calendars for our Spring Mini-Retreat on Wednesday, March 17. We will once again provide a full day of fun, food and sewing. More details later.
We have some interesting classes planned so be sure to look them over and sign up right away.
